My take: I was first drawn to this manhua because of the gorgeous visuals. Teng Ruiyu is especially beautiful with his long, cerulean hair and Qian Cuo is tall and handsome. Qi Yan, the artist, also brilliantly fed us some hot images on top of the viscerally creepy ones.

Story-wise, it’s pretty engaging. The manhua is still ongoing and we have gone through 3 major gory cases. The crimes are unique, therefore Teng Ruiyu, despite being retired, was roped into the investigation due to his knowledge of that obscure art. Despite the serious content, there is still humor to keep the mood light thanks to our CP and their sidekicks.

It can be confusing but the crime-solving shenanigans are shown via flashbacks (2017). Along the way, you'll witness their relationship bloom amidst the chaos. ~~(Hint: search online for the hot makeout scenes in chapter 25)~~ We know next to nothing on what exactly happened in present day (2019), except that Teng Ruiyu became unresponsive to external stimulus, sits in a wheelchair all day long, accompanied by his determined lover, Qian Cuo. WE WANT ANSWERS! </3

TLDR: PRETTY ART STYLE. INTRIGUING WHODUNNIT STORY. BEAUTIFUL ROMANCE.
